Almost two thirds of the world’s tiger population inhabit the forests and wetlands of India. This exceptional journey explores four of India’s greatest National Parks: Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Panna. Your experience will be further enhanced by staying in the most luxurious safari-style camps as you search for the elusive Bengal Tiger. Expert naturalists and trackers, in open-top jeeps, will ensure a truly memorable and enlightening stay.

Day 1

Fly from London via Dubai to Mumbai. You will be met on arrival and transferred to The Taj Mahal Palace for a 2 night stay.

Day 2

Embark upon a morning tour of the Elephanta Caves which will be followed by an afternoon driving tour of Mumbai City.

Day 3

Take an early morning flight to Nagpur. On your arrival you will be met and transferred by road for 2 hours to Pench National Park for a 2 night stay at Baghvan. Aptly named after one of India’s iconic symbols, the Bengal Tiger, it is contemporary in style and located in a dry river bed. A game drive will follow in the afternoon.

Day 4

You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with ample time to relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Day 5

5 hour road transfer to Kanha National Park for a 3 night stay at Banjaar Tola, consisting of two small camps with nine elegant tented suites situated along the banks of the River Banjaar. Arrival here will be in time for the afternoon game drive.

Days 6 & 7

Enjoy twice daily game drives in a specially designed open-top 4x4 safari vehicle, offering chances to view a variety of game including tiger, leopard, sloth bear and Indian wild dog, not to mention an impressive array of birdlife.

Day 8

6 hour road transfer to Bandhavgarh National Park, the former reserve of the Maharaja of Rewa, which nestles among the picturesque Vindhya and Satpura Hills. Prior to an afternoon game drive, check in for a 3 night stay at Mahua Kothi. Sprawling over 40 acres, the lodge blends charmingly into the surroundings, offering a unique wildlife adventure, impeccable service and rustic luxury.

Days 9 & 10

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives throughout an area that has one of the highest densities of tigers on the subcontinent and a diverse terrain, from rugged hilltops to grassy meadows, that offer the perfect vantage point for sightings of the elusive Bengal Tiger.

Day 11

Today you will be driven for 3½ hours to Panna National Park, situated on a plateau at the junction of the Gangetic plains and the Deccan peninsula with tropical forests, deep ravines and cascading waterfalls. Spend 2 nights at Pashan Garh, a collection of stone cottages huddled on top of a small hill with magnificent views over the forest and a large nearby waterhole that has provided numerous tiger and resident antelope sightings.

Day 12

Full day at leisure to relax and enjoy Pashan Garh.

Day 13

Morning transfer to Khajuraho and visit the exquisitely carved and embellished temples. In the afternoon fly to New Delhi where you will be met and transferred to The Imperial Hotel, an oasis of calm located in the heart of the city, bejewelled with art and rare antiques from the 18th century, for a 2 night stay.

Day 14

Today enjoy an optional morning tour of New and Old Delhi. Marvel at the contrasts of this fascinating city, from the parks, gardens and parliament buildings of New Delhi to the bustling markets of the Old Town, best seen by traditional rickshaw. Alternatively, simply relax and take the rest of the day at your own pace.

Day 15

In the morning, transfer to New Delhi Airport for your flight via Dubai to London.

Low season is 16 April to 30 June - 14 nights from £4,220 per person

High Season is 1 January to 15 April - 14 nights from £5,665 per person

Prices are based on two people sharing, inclusive of selected meals and beverages. Also includes economy flights with Emirates from London, private transfers and guided game drives.
